No, this is not a hoax, I really did make $2,249 my first month on Medium. Yes, I am just as shocked as you are. Yes, I know I have less than 500 followers. But, 483 people gave me a shot. 483 people told me, “Hey, your work isn’t half-bad.” Thanks, guys, this one is for you.

My boyfriend and I moved into a new apartment building recently and I met a Caucasian lady who lives on the floor below us. We’ll call her Racist Lady because, well, I’m just not feeling particularly creative right now. Racist Lady seemed like a friendly enough lady so we exchanged numbers and made plans to get together.

As Racist Lady and I sat down with our piping hot coffees a week later, she immediately started talking about her financial difficulties.

After Robert Ben Rhoades graduated from high school he decided to follow his father’s footsteps and he joined the Marine Corps. Around the same time that Robert joined the military, his father was arrested for molesting a twelve-year-old girl and ultimately committed suicide awaiting the trial. It would appear that crime was in Robert’s blood.
