She was attractive, charming, and intelligent. 18-year-old Brazilian beauty Suzane von Richthofen had it all — except her parent’s approval and their money. The socialite fantasized about a lavish life with her forbidden love and she was willing to go the distance to make her dreams come true, even if it meant murder.

Born and raised in an affluent São Paulo, Brazil neighborhood, Suzane lived in an elegant mansion with her parents, German engineer Manfred von Richthofen, his wife, Brazilian psychiatrist Marisia and their 15-year-old son, Andreas. Suzane studied law at an exclusive Catholic university.

At 16, Suzane started dating Daniel Cravinhos, a college dropout who taught Andreas how to fly model airplanes. Their parents weren’t particularly fond of Daniel. After all, he was an unemployed addict from a lower-class family, and in their eyes, he couldn’t possibly be good enough for their only daughter.
