Well, I'll say that my personal opinion differs from the opinion of the majority. Personally, I understand that A) many readers don't even realize they can clap more than once (I certainly didn't) and B) 1 clap vs. 50 claps doesn't reduce the value of the story BUT I also understand that to a majoriy of people, they perceive claps in the single digits as a slap in the face. Probably like tipping a meagre few cents (I've heard wait staff say they'd rather not be tipped at all in that case). I'm not sure why but I theorize it's simply just the classic idea that a larger number is better ie. more money, more houses, more claps, more views, etc etc...Phew, I fell into a rant there. But, yeah, I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't get it, but I get it.
